Ellie Scott Fabric Art

Ellie Scott’s fabric art looks beautiful set into a hammered tin retablo style shadow box. Ellie incorporated the shadow box into her artwork and is meant to be all one piece. Ellie asked us to mount her pieces into the shadow box which we did by sewing her pieces to an archival board which we then attached to pieces of black foam board to elevate them inside the box allowing them to appear to float. The entire assembly was then placed into an acrylic box lending the piece an ultra-contemporary look that stands in contrast to the folk art references of her style of art and the retablo box. Ellie’s piece was selected by Arts New Mexico to hang in a public place. For this reason we attached security hangers to the back.

Congratulations Ellie for being selected to show through Arts New Mexico.
